Technical knowledge – ventilation and installation

Practical technical knowledge, clear scope and tailored support for every project.

01 / WOLTER · SMOKE CONTROL

Garage ventilation and smoke control — the basics

Start by identifying the system duty: normal air exchange, contaminant control or smoke extraction. These are distinct operating scenarios. Correct axial or jet fan selection depends on project specifications, pressure losses, building geometry, safety requirements, controls and power supply.

F300/F400 requirements must be checked against certified device configurations and the overall system documentation. Airflow alone is not evidence of suitability for smoke extraction.

02 / STORE · INSTALLATION

How to plan purchases of installation materials

When procuring electrical supplies, compare not only price but manufacturer compatibility, cable sizes, rated voltage, ingress protection, necessary approvals and packaging quantities. Confusing trade units with logistical packs can result in costly ordering errors.

Bulk purchases benefit from consolidated accessory lists and shipping awareness: parcels, pallets or special transport.

03 / ENGINEERING · REPLACEMENTS

How to request an equivalent replacement fan

Useful information includes manufacturer/model, nameplate, voltage, motor power, speed, dimensions, airflow and duty pressure, mounting configuration, environment, temperature requirements and photographs. Belt-driven arrangements additionally require drivetrain information.

Replacing a fan requires comparing performance curves rather than external dimensions only. Final technical equivalence is confirmed following documentation review.
